UPDATED: eTreppid in Playboy

This should be fun. Aram Roston has written an article for Playboy magazine about computer programmer Dennis Montgomery. (NPR,BernieHund)

In the article titled “The Man Who Conned the Pentagon,” Roston tells the story of how Montgomery convinced top officials in the Bush Whitehouse that Al Jazeera broadcasts contained embedded code. The code, Montgomery claimed, had information used [...]

The Review Journal: Abandon All Journalistic Integrity, Ye Who Enter Here

Question: When is an AP story not an AP story?

Answer: When it appears in the Review Journal!

There was an AP notice the other day gurgling through the Internetal tubes to the affect that the arraignment of ex-eTreppid employee/consultant Dennis Montgomery vis. skipping out on gambling debts would be postponed awhile. (AP)

All well and good and hardly [...]

Lazy Day Journalism

No doubt all readers of the Review Journal–especially the Gibber 14-percenters who make up the bulk of its readership–were titillated by news that Gibbons’ “accuser” Douglas Montgomery was picked up by the local constabulary for not paying gambling debts. (RJ) All in good fun, no doubt, except for the following bit of pro-Gøøber spin:

Hosin’ Off the Gibbers

Huh. That's odd.

The Review Journal decided, for no apparent reason, to run an extended piece about the Dennis Montgomery, eTreppid fiasco. (RJ)

The only thing particularly noteworthy about the piece was some accusations that Montgomery's software didn't work, but loyal VGO readers knew about some of those–back in March 2007. (VGO,VGO) The RJ rehearsed some inventive [...]

Treppless Gubelets

Sigh. It's the passing of an era. Dennis Montgomery has settled up with Warren Trepp in their dispute over who owned that Muslim-pattern recognition software that Montgomery wrote. Trepp's company, eTreppid, sold the software to the U.S. Government with a little help from then backbencher Jim Gibbons and perhaps a little alleged palm greasing of same [...]

Who’s Your GILF?

All Nevada hangs its head in shame today as we contemplate just how much John McSame raised our hopes so high–just to toss us aside for some choice-hating, gun-loving, evangelista GILF.

I'm still reeling from the disappointment. How could he pass over Nevada's own GINWF for that Alaskan temptress? Yes, she may be a sad attempt [...]

Lawyer to Pro: Dennis is Sending in His Stuff

After Judge Philip Pro slapped Dennis Montgomery with a fine for not turning in stuff as part of the ongoing eTreppid lawsuits, Montgomery's lawyer says he's been sending lots of stuff in:

[Ellen Garofalo, Mongomery's spokester] said Montgomery had to go through an enormous amount of material
before releasing it to eTreppid to be sure that [...]

Still Treppin’

Judge Phillip Pro has fined Gibbons-accuser Dennis Montgomery for failing to turn over some computer code to eTreppid, Inc. (RGJ)

Warren Trepp, owner of eTreppid (get it?), thinks he owns the code. Dennis Montgomery disagrees. Hence, the court fight.

During the fight, Montgomery has alleged that Gibbons was a willing bribee for luxurious cruises and bags of casino [...]

Oh, Yeah, THAT Josh Hicks

Playing on that desperate resurrection theme being so desperately propounded by the shrinking few willing to defend the Governor during the last dark days of his failed tenure in Nevada highest constitutional office, the Sun introduces us to the next victim of Gibbons’ chaotic downward spiral: Josh Hicks. (Sun)

But, wait there’s something familiar about that name…

Oh, [...]

eTreppid Case Just Got Weirder

Check out the latest fun up at eTreppid, Inc. (RGJ)

According to court filings from Dennis Montgomery’s former attorney Michael Flynn, Montgomery went to work for a company owned by ultra-rich divorcee Edra Blixseth after leaving eTreppid.

Now there are accusations that Ms. Blixseth gave out top secret information while trying to sell Montgomery’s software–and claims that the [...]
