This should be fun. Aram Roston has written an article for Playboy magazine about computer programmer Dennis Montgomery. (NPR,BernieHund) In the article titled “The Man Who Conned the Pentagon,” Roston tells the story of how Montgomery convinced top officials in the Bush Whitehouse that Al Jazeera broadcasts contained embedded code. There was an AP notice the other day gurgling through the Internetal tubes to the affect that the arraignment of ex-eTreppid employee/consultant Dennis Montgomery vis. skipping out on gambling debts would be postponed awhile. (AP) All well and good and hardly [...] No doubt all readers of the Review Journal–especially the Gibber 14-percenters who make up the bulk of its readership–were titillated by news that Gibbons’ “accuser” Douglas Montgomery was picked up by the local constabulary for not paying gambling debts. (RGJ) Warren Trepp, owner of eTreppid (get it?), thinks he owns the code. Dennis Montgomery disagrees. Hence, the court fight. During the fight, Montgomery has alleged that Gibbons was a willing bribee for luxurious cruises and bags of casino [...] Playing on that desperate resurrection theme being so desperately propounded by the shrinking few willing to defend the Governor during the last dark days of his failed tenure in Nevada highest constitutional office, the Sun introduces us to the next victim of Gibbons’ chaotic downward spiral: Josh Hicks.
