Jimbo described Ensign’s sexual harassment of an employee and then paying her and the hubby off to cover it up like this:

And then the Gube calls up this principle of American justice:

Now you historians take a deep breath before you get going about that “this day and age.” The presumption of innocence goes back to 1895 in the U.S. and maybe back to Deuteronomy. Drat. Now the VGO crack medical team won’t be able to analyze the Gube’s semen.

Front and center at the motion to suppress orgy was none other than the man who gave you GIbbers, Sig Rogich. Mr Rogich’s attorneys were refreshingly honest:

No doubt. If Nevada citizens ever learned the true nature of Mr. Rogich’s “private” dealings, there’d be a mass vomit which would last a good three days–and God knows how many indictments.

Still, one can’t help wondering if Mr. Rogich’s new found senate majority leading friend won’t lend some unwelcome support to the Gube’s suppression frenzy. Now there’d be an unwelcome irony: Democrats helping to undermine Mazzeo’s rights for the sake of a distasteful alliance with a political operative with dirty underpants. Let’s hope that possibility remains a mere creature of blogger paranoia.

Elko. "No, I will not work with Mr. Rogers. Not even if he wears his
warm fuzzy sweater and his slippers and comes to my office. I will not
work with Mr. Rogers.

"First of all, I think he has done more harm to the system of
higher education. And I don't make the choices that he has blamed me
for. I don't make the choices about your community college. That's left

Yep, it's un-parsable gibberish as usual. That first sentence in the second paragraph sort of leaves one hangin'. More harm than what? Than Gibbons on a bender in a parking garage?  Than GIbbons at the rodeo with a MILF? Than Gibbers with an Excel spreadsheet doing the budget numbers? Than what, what??

Do you think he ever reads over those speeches before he gives 'em?

Tho, I'm glad to see he admits to not making any choices when he draws up a budget. That backs up my theory that he makes cuts with the help up a blindfold and a dart board.

But what the speech tells us more than anything is that our loner gube is so full of grace and tact that he'lll do anything for a bit of petty payback.
