You know you're in trouble….
When your strongest defender is glad the state has a bunch of niddle managers to cover for you:
State Sen. Bob Beers defended the governor’s performance and
management competency: “I believe we have a professional and
experienced core of managers and I hope they’re not distracted by this.
Dealers know how to count to 21 without (casino owners) standing over
their shoulder.” (Sun)
When your most trusted advisers tell you to threaten to take away employee salary raises to cover for your ridiculous mid-life crisis:
Before calling the special session, however, the governor did take
advice from his political advisers, Sig Rogich and Jim Denton. They
told him that calling the special session would allow him to “change
the subject” from the divorce, according to two sources familiar with
the conversations.
And you're really in trouble if Sig Rogich and Jim Denton are the best you can do for a "kitchen cabinet."

Ah, in calling for a special session to “‘change the subject’ from the divorce” Gibbons now has his very own “Wag the Dog” moment BUT with a twist!
Clinton bombed Iraq in late 1998 on the eve of his impeachment; this was his version of “Wag the Dog”. ….Gibbons creates his “Wag the Dog” moment by calling for a Special Session which could facilitate his impeachment! The Legislature could not call itself into Session to impeach the Gvernor, only the governor can do that.
It appears that Gibbons’ is attempting to politicize the budget issue-did he contact ANY Democratic leaders? Since Gibbons will veto any revenue increase, all the Legislature can do is cut program funding and since the Legislative Interim Finance Committee can do that anyway, what is the reason to spend all our non-existant money on a Special Session? It may be that Gibbons’ (and “their”, whoever they are) beautiful strategy has a fatal tactical error, sort of a wicked computer virus, that deletes the Governor when he opens the Special Session!
Gibbons always seems to get it backwards or as we all used to say, “when you are up to your ass in alligators, it is difficult to remind yourself that your initial objective was to drain the swamp”!
Impeach Krolicki (since the tobacco securitization package will be part of the Governor’s package in the Special Session, Legislative action on Krolicki will be pertinent and relevant, especially considering that Krolicki will not allow the State Treasurere, Kate Marshall, to review his work product that established the value of said program at 100% above his sworn testimony in 2001. Hell, the Legislature could ask him to produce the records from 2001, which allegedly don’t exist and the Legislature could start impeachment right then), because of his knowingly and willfully breaking the law when he was state treasurer (use the 2007 LCB findings package for prosecution), and, too, destroying all documents under his care as State Treasurer. BTW, I thought we were all going to get to read the investigative report done by the Department of Safety cronies, weeks ago? What up?
Then, imipeach the GOvernor being a clear and present danger to the welfare of the State of Nevada.
Who will be governor after all that? Mark Armodei, 2nd in command of the Republican lead senate. He’s term limited in two years so the Rs get to annoint his successor; Armodei is set to run in 2010; the governorship is still in R hands; and most importantly, Nevada is free of two of its worst self-interested, self serving and self indulgent “public servents”.
Winners all around, pass the nuts.
BTW, the SUN story by Cooligan, Swartz and Emily was top shelf! That story pinpointed exactly why Gibbons needs to be removed from office in order to save the State. Job well done to each of them and the SUN!
As an aside, I note Senator Hardy’s quote in the SUN story; “Sen. Warren Hardy, R-Henderson, noted Gibbons’ experience as a fighter pilot, which may account for his go-it-alone approach”, is a rip off of a recently published political analysis by an elected official concerning his thoughts on John McCain’s thought process. Thought Plagerism by a man with a 32 count ethics complaint saring him in the face? Hmmmm?
Looks like this “impossible impeachment” story written in 2007, and that I just now found, is very salient today!

Will anybody (D or R) in the legislature have the guts to impeach him/them as herein recommended?
The bet is… NO.
Where’s the FBI?
LV Sun Excerpt
From the goober’s over-paid and under-qualified mouthpiece:
“Whenever I talk to the governor, he knows about something before I do, he knows more about something than I do.”
Uummmm… DUH!
Won’t somebody please call the FBI?
Actually, you know you’re in trouble when
your “closest advisor” is the owner of a service station who your so-called staff has never heard of.
…his closest adviser is Howard Weiss, the owner of Reno-Sparks RV and Auto Service
Who offers this analysis of the sorry state of the state : Look at dates and times and places. You’ll see the puzzle pieces come together
WTF?
